Art Era Movement Lecture
In this lecture, I understand the
development of western art, art in different stages also expressed mixed
characteristics. The European Renaissance art from the 14th to the 16th
century, to adhere to the practical method and reflect the humanistic thought,
created a new art most in line with the realistic humanity under the banner of
tracing back to the artistic spirit of ancient Greece and Rome.
The Baroque and Rococo styles appeared in the history of western art in the 17th and 18th centuries. Subsequent 19th-century modern paintings have successively appeared in neoclassicism, romanticism, realism, impressionism, and post-impressionism.
Post-Impressionism represented by Cézanne,
Van Gogh, and Gauguin at the end of the 19th century. Impressionism emerged in
France in the late 19th century. This school of painting with innovative
attitude, it opposed to the then already obsolete classical academic art
concept and law, inspired by modern optics and color science, pay attention to
the effect of light in painting.
The paintings of the 20th century opened Artistic innovation.Van Gogh, such as Italian Futurism,
French Orphism, purism, and British vorticism, influenced later brutalism. Subsequent expressionist groups such as the
German Bridge Society and the Green Knights appeared one after another,
producing abstract art.
While "contemporary art" started with the end of the cold
war and the beginning of globalization and informatization in 1989,
contemporary art and post-modern art still have many similar characteristics in
terms of artistic media and technical forms.
More importantly, they have strengthened their expression in terms of
language and social characteristics of the art era.
As human civilization enters the
information age, the progress of science and technology not only changes
People's Daily life with each passing day but also brings a series of new
breakthroughs and creations to the forms of artistic expression. The changing
times have made art more diverse.
